Case Study: Skipton Partnership Leads to Customer Success

A Skipton Building Society member recently moved into their property and wanted to address several issues that were identified in the pre-purchase Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) and structural survey.





The primary concerns were improving the outdated heating system and installing a photovoltaic (PV) system for better energy efficiency within the property, leading to long-term savings. The homeowner faced significant challenges in finding contractors willing to undertake the necessary improvements, leading to frustration and delays. That is, until, as a Skipton Building Society member, the customer came across Vibrant’s partnership with the bank: a free EPC Plus assessment, alongside recommendations on energy efficient products and installations.


The customer got in touch with us, and soon after this, a member of our Energy Audit team attended the address and outlined these initial findings upon speaking with the customer:

Solution

Vibrant Energy Matters conducted a Vibrant Energy Saving Audit and referred the homeowner to one of our preferred contractors, Custom Heat/Electric, to explore their options. Then, detailed discussions and consideration of alternatives culminated in an agreed scheme for the new heating and PV systems.

The installations were then carried out. We provided ongoing support and periodic check-ins to ensure progress and compliance with the agreed plan.

 

Outcome

The new energy systems at the property are highly efficient and reliable, significantly enhancing the property’s overall energy performance.

The PV system has increased the homeowner’s energy self-reliance and will provide long-term economic benefits.

The post-installation Vibrant Energy Audit, showed an improvement in the property's rating from E to C.
